Fully vaccinated should travel with precautions.
The Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, said unvaccinated Americans should stay home during the Labor Day holiday weekend as COVID-19 cases surge due to the highly contagious Delta variant. “First and foremost, if you are unvaccinated, we would recommend not traveling,” she said.
Director Walensky recommended that fully vaccinated people travel with precautions, but high transmission rates mean they also need to take infection risk into consideration when thinking about whether to hit the road. “Given where we are with disease transmission right now, we would say that people need to take these risks into their own consideration as they think about traveling,“ she stated.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for Director Walensky as she heads the CDC.
- For the continued decrease in the strength and transmission of the virus.
- For safety and health for Americans over the holiday weekend, regardless of travel plans.
